R E D U C E ! • • • • • Reducing your purchases can have a huge impact on environmental sustainability and your mental well-being. Am I advocating for cutting out all purchases? No. I just think there’s a great benefit to purchasing less and being mindful about the things we do purchase. 1. I don’t know about you, but when my house Is cluttered I struggle to think straight, get anything done, or even just find something I need! Eliminating a lot of the unnecessary stuff frees me up to move around, find things, and be creative with what I have. 2. There’s an environmental impact to purchasing less as well. Fewer things end up thrown away and making their way to our landfills or oceans. Fewer items are transported for long distances, reducing emission. Fewer resources are being used for unnecessary things. 3. It also frees up your money to do something more productive with. Before buying anything, I always try to ask myself where that money might be better used. • • • • • These are just a few great environmental and mental impacts of reducing our purchases. What other reasons can you think of?
